Shepherd's
Crossing is dependent almost entirely upon its many wonderful volunteers.
There are several ways in which you can become involved.
1. Volunteer
“counselors” are the heart of our organization and one of
the most rewarding ways to become involved! Counselors work directly
with the clients; assess each case individually offering both emotional
and financial assistance. We have counselor training once a year (January)
and written guidelines. All counselors are asked to shadow other counselors
until you become comfortable and properly informed to counsel on your
own.
2. If
you would like to become involved and would rather not work directly
with clients, there is always basic data entry, copying, stapling, and
a variety of other office tasks needing to be completed. We are looking
for a more permanent data entry person currently; you would need to
be available during business hours.
3. We
also use an “intake” person welcoming clients as they arrive,
to answer basic questions, start them with the paper work required to
receive assistance and photo copying. |
